03 Jun Tumeric Late Recipe
The winds are picking up and it is starting to become the kind of weather where all you want to do is snuggle up to someone you love on a big comfy couch!
Our drink of choice to warm you down to your toes is a tumeric chai latte. The spices are perfect for this season and this potent elixir has many health benefits such as boosting the immune system, reducing inflammation, aiding digestion, supporting brain function and improving memory.
What you will need…
1 teaspoon ground turmeric
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 cinnamon stick or quill
1 whole star anise
1 teaspoon fennel seeds, crushed
1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste
2 cups (500ml) soy milk or almond milk
How to create it…
Combine the turmeric, ginger, cardamom, nutmeg, cinnamon, star anise, fennel and vanilla in a medium saucepan. Season with pepper. Stir in milk. Bring to a simmer over medium heat. Set aside for 5 mins to infuse.
Strain through a fine sieve into mugs or serving glasses. Serve immediately.
